Cheese ball...
We have gotten wave #2 in snow today, here in the lovely Puget Sound area. We went to bed last night with snow already on the ground from our previous surge and woke up this morning to find even more snow. BUCKETS and BUCKETS of snow! I would estimate we have about 10-12 inches on the ground right now. I do not remember when we've had this much snow... probably when I was a kid! Even now, as I type this, I am looking out the window and I see HUGE snowflakes STILL coming down! It is TRULY a sight to behold! Just BEAUTIFUL!!! I often times feel, when these storms come in, that it is God's way of just getting us to stop for a bit. I love the glorious expectation of it all and the constant checks out the window. I love that things get cancelled and we get to stay home. Life needs a storm once in awhile, i think... it does people well.
We went outside this morning to play in it. We had better luck bundling Ben up in his snow suit. We triple socked him to ensure his boots would stay on. The neighborhood kids were all out in the thick of it and our little culdesac was a bustle. Chase had a ball with our next door neighbor's dog. They ran and ran and Ben enjoyed a push around in the sled! I made a conscious decision to leave my camera inside for that time. Often, I feel like I "miss out" when I am toting my camera around, looking for that perfect pic. Today, it was just about play!
I did, however, sneak outside, once I put Ben down for his nap, just to take this shot. Ahem... a self portrait, if you will. I set up my tripod and struck a little pose, just to remember this day and this GLORIOUS FOOT deep snow!
May you and yours slow down and enjoy the beauty of this time!
