Natural {Monroe, Wa Maternity and Newborn Photographer}

Baby bumps. Ahh! What a beautiful glorious season in a women's life. When I was pregnant, there were moments when I felt the "frump". Nothing seems to fit anymore. You get cramps in the most god awful places. You get more and more slow moving. And, on and on it can go...

But then I remember, what an AMAZING blessing it is to be with child. I grasp the bigger picture. I GET to carry this beautiful baby inside of me. I GET to have and protect this little one for nine months... in the grand scheme of things, that really isn't that long of a time. What other time will I FULLY get to protect my baby from the world, then now? I GET to feel this child's first little kicks and moves. And, I have the HONOR of laboring this baby into my arms.

And, it truly is just that. An honor. I always feel so very worshipful when I am pregnant. What an awe inspiring, miraculous time (when you really stop to think about the whole process of it all!).

And, I am always in awe of other pregnant women as well. They are beautiful, whether they think it or not. They are strong, whether they feel it or not. And, they are chosen to such a high calling... motherhood (and this goes for adoptive mommies as well!).

SO... I felt honored when my friend, Mitzi, asked me to document this beautiful time in her life. They have had quite the path to get to where they are now. Through all of the trials that they have gone through, they have been blessed with their second boy on the way!

I had QUITE the vision in my little head for this session! I have been wanting to do an evening shoot in a field for some time now! Jeff can attest to the fact, that lately, EVERYWHERE we drive, I am always scouting out possible field locations! I wanted something private, preferably with wild flowers and no eye sores in the backdrop (ie. power lines). You would think in such a place that we live, these types of fields would be everywhere! But, I was having troubs finding a suitable one with the above standards! However, last week, I DID find such the place. OH! The beauty of this natural scape. EXACTLY what I was looking for for this kind of session!

Next, it was onto styling... AND, yes, styling is important when prepping for a shoot! I have been reading up lots on this issue and chatted with Mitzi about the thought of not getting too "matchy matchy", but instead, COORDINATING with each other. I am all for bright colors, accessories, and a timeless sort of look! We had several conversations about "the look" and I think what she came up with looks FANTASTIC!!! I brought along some other article options to add to her look and I think it worked very well!

And, lastly... in this vision of mine... I had wanted "the light"! You know, that "end of day, shine on your hair, twinkle in your eyes, kind of light."... WELL... that didn't quite pan out. In our ever changing state that we live in, our Washington weather ended up being cloudy on the evening that we went out.

SO... that just makes me want to go back... back to this beautiful field to enjoy that end of day kind of light and grab some photos! Anyone game for that?=)

With or without that "light", I still feel like we accomplished what we set out to get... A natural mom. I truly am proud of these images and I think Mitzi and her family couldn't have shined more!

**One last little note... Because I enjoyed SO so much photographing this little baby bump and I ALSO love seeing those tiny little newborns, I figure it might be about time to come out with another little package and maybe a special little deal to go along with it... I have had several inquiries about a maternity/newborn package... Stay tuned for that announcement later.

For now... I hope you enjoy this sneak peek!
